These notices appeared on our web site during the year and were moved off as they became obsolete. They are in reverse order — most recent to oldest — except for the calendar of events, which is at the end. Links were good at the time we posted them, but they often go bad after a while — we don't guarantee them.

McLean Day

Space 42 is between two trees, so we should have some shade this year. The map for 2012 is not yet available, but you can locate our space (#42) on last year's map.

Belt Test Results

Color belts earned at the April 14 belt test will be awarded during classes the following week. Black belts and bo black belts will be awarded at the June belt test.

Belt Test — April 14, 2012

The next belt test is scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 2012. Please get your completed application, check, and (children only) copy of your latest report card to one of the Masters BEFORE the test day. There are no classes on test days. Bring sparring gear.

Please arrive about 10 minutes before the start of your test:

* If you recently tested for Bo Black belt or a Black belt, you must attend at this time to receive your belt. If you have any questions, please speak to Master Kim.

Family class members: You may test with your children at the 12:30 test or you can test separately. The 12:30 test lasts longer; young children might find it tiring.

Payment: Please make checks payable to "SH Kim Taekwondo." Write the name of the student(s) testing in the memo area. You may pay for the whole family with one check. We cannot process credit card payments on the day of the test. Cash is accepted (exact change is appreciated) but we prefer a check.

Click on Promotion on the side bar for help getting ready for the test. There are photos of all the taegeuk and blackbelt poomse on the Kukkiwon's poomsae web page. (It seems to work better in Internet Explorer than in Firefox.) If you want to watch the video, you will need to register with the site.

If you need to make special arrangements regarding the belt test, please check with Master SH Kim before the test day.
